My first honest-to-goodness shot at digital line art.
.... And I think it could be better. :/ It feels a bit too heavy-handed to me. A little too "cartoony". If anyone would like to give me suggestions, I'm all ears.
The coloring, now... that's something I'm a bit more comfortable with. I went for a real comic-book vibe this time. To do the shading, I pretty much just used the same process I do on my sketch commissions - block in some flat colors, then shade on a softlight or overlay layer with a few color gradients for atmosphere. Obviously, this one is more refined than the sketches....
Actually, this way is much different than the way I "paint", which would be my comfort zone. Anyone have some different techniques for coloring this way?
So anyway... yeah. This is Stryxus again. With his proper coloring 'n all. I figured the center portion would be a nice thing for reference.
